Mondelez, Intl. – Cadbury

Project Description

The Kraft Foods Cadbury facility in Rockford, IL is the largest gum manufacturing plant in North America.  Kraft decided to consolidate all offsite storage of raw material and finished goods to their facility in Rockford.  UISC has a long standing relationship with Kraft Foods and was again selected to provide all design & construction services required for the new Buffer Warehouse Addition.

  • 135,000 S.F. Dry Warehouse with a 32’ clear height
  • 15,000 S.F. 65° Humidity Controlled Conditioned Room
  • 2,000 S.F. Dock Support Office
  • 17,600  Pallet Positions
  • Interior remodel of the existing Welfare & Support Areas

Despite the logistic problems associated with maintaining the existing Plant Shipping and Receiving operations throughout construction, UISC was able to complete the Addition ahead of schedule and under budget, resulting in substantial savings to the Owner.

UISC started the project for Kraft Foods and three-quarters of the way through construction Cadbury became part of the Mondelez International Snack Division.  During this change in leadership, UISC worked seamlessly with Mondelez and completed the project to everyone’s satisfaction.
